As of July 26, 2026, reporting puts the entry Model Y Standard at $41,630 all-in: $39,990 plus $1,390 destination plus a $250 non-refundable order fee. Model Y Premium starts at $45,990; the three-row Model Y L runs $61,990. The Standard is a single rear-motor RWD car, EPA-rated at 321 miles.

The order fee is part of the real price, not a deposit

Worth flagging on its own: the $250 order fee is non-refundable, which is why the honest "what you'll pay" number is $41,630, not $39,990-plus-destination. Treat it the way you'd treat destination charge — part of the sticker, not a hold you get back if you change your mind.

Does a referral change the order any of this happens in?

No. The referral link still has to be open before you start configuring, regardless of which Model Y trim you land on or what today's sticker price is. The trial itself — three months of FSD (Supervised), about $300 in value — is flat across every eligible Model Y trim; it doesn't scale with price. That makes it a proportionally bigger slice of the $41,630 Standard than of the $61,990 Model Y L, purely because the total is smaller, not because the trial itself is worth more on one trim than another.

Does the price ladder itself change when you should order?

A snapshot of today's prices isn't, by itself, a signal to rush or to wait — the reporting above describes the ladder as it stood on July 26, 2026, not a warning that a specific trim is about to move again. If you already have a referral link ready, opening it before you configure costs nothing and isn't tied to a specific trim: it stays attached to whichever eligible Model Y you end up ordering, Standard, Premium or L.

What "all-in" still leaves out

The $41,630 figure is all-in on Tesla's line items — the car, destination, and the order fee. It is not what leaves your account. Sales tax, title and registration are set by your state and often your county, they are charged on top, and they vary widely enough that two buyers configuring the identical Standard hundreds of miles apart write meaningfully different cheques.

That is why a national price ladder can only ever be half a budget. The half published here is genuinely comparable across the country and worth quoting precisely; the other half is local, and the only reliable source for it is your own jurisdiction's rate applied to the taxable amount your state defines — some tax the pre-destination price, some the full total, and some adjust for a trade-in. If a page hands you one national out-the-door number, it has quietly picked a state for you.

The number that binds is the one on the order agreement

A configurator shows the price as it stands while you are looking at it. It is not a quote held for you, and a saved build is not a reserved price. The document that fixes what you pay is the order agreement you get at checkout, which is also the moment two other things become checkable at once:

• The total. Confirm the figure on the agreement matches the build you configured, including destination and the order fee, before you pay anything.
• The referral benefit. It has to be visible there too. A benefit that isn't showing on the order summary is not one that gets added afterwards, whatever trim you chose.

Both checks take the same thirty seconds and happen on the same screen. It is the one point in the process where the price story and the referral story stop being separate topics — and the reason we keep saying the link goes first is precisely that this screen is where you find out whether it did.

What it doesn't change

Model S and Model X status is unaffected (they aren't part of this pricing story and still earn no referral benefit), overall eligibility is unaffected, and the order-summary check before payment is the same step no matter which Model Y trim you choose.
