Tesla Referral Code — Frequently Asked Questions

Short, dated answers to the questions buyers ask most. For the reasoning behind them, see what's true today and the corrections.

These are the questions we are asked most, answered as of the verification date above. Each answer matches the current status; the claims we deliberately do not repeat are listed in the corrections.

The questions buyers ask most

Do Tesla referral codes still work in 2026?

Yes. As of the verification date above, a referral code still gives eligible buyers three months of Full Self-Driving (Supervised) on Model 3, Model Y and qualifying Cybertruck. What changed is the reward itself — it is now an FSD trial, not the old cash discount or free Supercharging.

Which Tesla models qualify for a referral benefit?

Model 3, Model Y and Cybertruck (Premium AWD and Cyberbeast trims). Model S and Model X were removed from the North America referral program in March 2026 and no longer carry a buyer benefit.

Can I add a referral code after I order?

No. The benefit is recognised only when you open the referral link before configuring, and it must appear in your order summary before payment. Tesla does not apply a referral to an order after it is placed.

Is there a coupon box to type the code into?

No. A referral is applied by opening the referral link first; the benefit then appears automatically in the order summary. There is no manual code field at checkout.

What does the person who refers me get?

The referrer earns $250 in Tesla Credits for each successful vehicle or solar referral, capped at 10 referrals per calendar year. Credits are usable in the Tesla app for things like Supercharging, upgrades and merchandise.

How do you verify the code is current?

We check that a code resolves to a live ts.la owner link and that Tesla's own Refer and Earn page still lists the FSD (Supervised) benefit for the eligible models, then stamp the date we checked. If Tesla changes the program, we update the page and the date.
