Which models still qualify in 2026
Yes: Model 3, Model Y, and Cybertruck (Premium AWD and Cyberbeast). No: Model S and Model X, which were removed from the North America referral program in March 2026. If a page tells you an S or X buyer earns a referral perk, it is out of date — see the corrections.
How to use a Tesla referral code (3 steps)
There is no code box at checkout. The benefit is tied to opening the referral link before you configure, then confirming it in the order summary.

Open the referral link first
Before you configure anything, open a valid referral link (a ts.la/… address wraps an owner's code). This tags your session so the benefit is recognised.

Configure and place your order
Build your Model 3, Model Y or eligible Cybertruck and go to the order screen. The 3-month FSD (Supervised) benefit shows in the order summary before payment — there is no coupon box to type into.

Confirm it applied, then pay
Check the order summary lists the referral benefit before you submit. Tesla does not add a referral after an order is placed, so verify it is there first.
Code vs link — what's the difference?
They are the same thing in two shapes. A referral code is a short string tied to an owner's account. A referral link (ts.la/<code>) is that same code wrapped in a URL — clicking it pre-applies the code for you. Use whichever is handier; the copy button gives you the code, and “Open at Tesla” gives you the link.
Is it really free? How we verify
Our method is boring on purpose. We confirm the code resolves to a live ts.la owner link, then check that Tesla's own Refer and Earn page still lists the FSD (Supervised) benefit for the eligible models. We stamp the date we checked () and refresh it whenever Tesla changes the program. The FSD trial itself is free for three months; after that it reverts to a paid subscription unless you cancel.
