Tesla Referral Code Value Breakdown: Every Number Explained
Every figure this site quotes, shown with the arithmetic behind it — including one number, the referrer's annual ceiling, we haven't spelled out anywhere else.
This site quotes "about $300" and "$250" and "$400" often enough that it's worth showing the arithmetic behind each one, in place, rather than asking you to take a headline figure on faith.
The buyer side: how "about $300" is calculated
The referral benefit for Model 3, Model Y and qualifying Cybertruck trims is three months of Full Self-Driving (Supervised), included at no charge. At Tesla's current price of roughly $99/month for the FSD (Supervised) subscription, three months works out to about $297 — which we round to "about $300" rather than print as an exact figure, because Tesla adjusts the monthly FSD price from time to time and we'd rather the estimate stay honest than look falsely precise.

The solar side: a flat number, not a multiple
A referred solar order gets $400 off — a single flat figure Tesla sets directly, not a rate multiplied by anything. Unlike the FSD trial, this number doesn't move if a subscription price changes, because there's no subscription involved; it's stated once and applies the same way regardless of system size.
The referrer side: per-referral, and the ceiling nobody prints
A referrer earns $250 in Tesla Credits per successful referral, capped at 10 per calendar year. Multiply those two numbers and you get a figure we haven't seen spelled out on any referral page, including our own until now: up to $2,500 in Tesla Credits per calendar year is the referrer-side ceiling, if someone hits the cap. That's a ceiling, not a typical outcome — most referrers never get close to ten in a year — but it's useful for understanding the actual shape of the program's upper bound.

All figures checked against Tesla's Refer and Earn page on July 13, 2026. The $2,500 annual figure above is this site's own arithmetic ($250 × the 10-referral cap), not a number Tesla publishes directly — the two inputs it's built from are.
A two-person household example
Take a household where one person orders a Model Y using a relative's referral link, and that relative already owns a Tesla. The buyer's side: about $300 in FSD (Supervised) trial value. The referrer's side: $250 in Tesla Credits, assuming it's their first successful referral of the year. Combined across the household, that's roughly $550 in total value generated by one order and one tagged link — split between two different people, in two different forms (a software trial vs. spendable Credits), from Tesla to two separate accounts.
What this number isn't
None of these figures compound, stack with a second referral code on the same order, or convert between the buyer's and referrer's side. The buyer never sees the $250; the referrer never sees the FSD trial. Each is a separate reward, calculated separately, and paid to a separate account — the arithmetic above only combines them for the sake of showing the household's total, not because Tesla combines them anywhere in its own systems.
